On the 20th of August 2008, we held a private Industrial Screening for our close to finish film Geng: The Adventure Begins to gain feedback and insights from key players in the industry. The screening was handled by MDeC and was hence held at the MSC Headquarters, at the Bunga Raya Auditorium. The event drew in a good crowd as representatives from many government bodies and companies attended from MDeC, MOSTI, MIMOS, FINAS, Astro while journalists and photographers from Utusan Malaysia, The Edge, the News Straits Times, and The Star also attended to cover the event. Many other MDeC staff came to watch the show as well and despite running out of seats, they brought in seats from outside. We anticipated this happening and that's why only 8 of us went there, else the whole of the Les' Copaque team would crowd the whole auditorium. Also present at the event was CEO of MDeC, Dato' Badlisham Ghazali and Ketua Pengarah FINAS, Mr Mohd Mahyidin Mustakim. The event started with a screening of our latest trailer, Upin & Ipin: Setahun Kemudian 1st Episode, and then finally the preview of Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula.
It was an exhilirating experience for many of us since our 2 years of hard work finally paid off, industry players young and old laughed at the comical scenes and watched in awe at the action sequences. The show ended and Tuan Haji Burhanuddin (Atok), opened the floor for questions and feedbacks.

What did they think? We wont say much as you can read for it for yourselves at the 2 newspaper coverages regarding the event but overall everyone was pleased. Many suggestions given was towards the editing and the flow of the film to make it reach the climax faster but everyone agreed they all enjoyed it. We gathered all the feedbacks and are now proceeding towards polishing and improving our film for 2 more weeks. After that, the film is finalised and will be sent for Film Reel transfer. Les' Copaque Production would like to thank Dato' Badlisham Ghazali and MDeC for hosting the event and everyone else who attended for making it a success. We look forward to watching the film together with everyone at the cinemas soon.
