IT WAS so quiet in the small space you could hear a pin drop – a few heads turned as the door opened but no one showed much of a reaction, save the odd raised eyebrow.

This was the office of Les’ Copaque Production, an animation company situated in a shoplot near the Shah Alam stadium, where around 30 young (no one is above 30 years of age except the managing director) employees slave away at their computers to come up with animation worthy of global recognition.

Awkwardness was beginning to seep in when Muhammad Anas Abd Aziz, or just simply Anas, walked in and led the way to the ‘brainstorming’ room, where meetings are held and ideas laid out on the table.

On the way there a few more heads turned and several animators rose to introduce themselves – on the computer screens behind them was a work-in-progress of the characters from the upcoming animated film Geng.
