We're Hiring!

Les' Copaque is hiring and targeting to hit 100 manpower by the end of the year. We are conducting an open interview to look for interested individuals.

Applicants are given the chance to be a part of our 3D animated film production entitled “Geng: The Adventure Begins”, “Upin & Ipin” 3D Animated Full Television series as well as other upcoming productions. We are looking for both experienced and fresh graduates.

Les’ Copaque is also setting up a new merchandising division, geared towards producing creative merchandises for our many IPs. Therefore there are designer positions offered for applicants to apply.

We are also accepting applications for Practical and Internship training programs therefore students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Positions Offered : -

Designers (New Opening)
- Candidates must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, or equivalent
- Have interest in product designing
- Good in visualization, designs, colors, layout design, and drawing.
- Thorough understanding of Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator
- Knowledge in Printings and materials, and merchandising is a bonus.

Concept / Story Board Artists
- Candidates must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, Animation or equivalent
- Good in visualization, designs, colors, film language and cinematography,
- Able to draw human figures and concepts for visualization process
- Skills in matte painting is a bonus

3D Modelers
- Candidates must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, Animation or equivalent
- Should have a good understanding of polygon topology.
- Thorough understanding of Autodesk Maya is a bonus

3D Animators
- Candidates must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, Animation or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of Autodesk Maya is a bonus
- Animatior should understand the usage of 12 priciples of animation

Render Artists
- Candidates must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, Animation or equivalent
- Should have a good understanding of basic 3 point lighting system.
- Must be able to handle multipass rendering, texturing, lighting placement and basic compositing

Editor
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, Animation or equivalent
- Able to work offline and online editing using any NLE softwares.
- Knowledge in audio design is a bonus

Sound Designer
- Candidates must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, Animation or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of audio design, recording processes and audio editing softwares.
- Able to manage and edit audio tracks including voice casting and musical scores.

Scriptwriter
- Candidates must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Animation and Film Language
- Should have good script writing knowledge and strong film sense.
- Procifient in Bahasa Melayu & English

ASWARA '08 Showcase

First of all, we would like to congratulate the students of ASWARA for completing the Cert. of Animation (Kursus Sijil Animasi) course in LCP Animation Training Center. They were given a task to come up with a short animation based on chosen theme. They'd propose a storyline, then proceed to the preproduction and finally the production. Here we would like to share the short animation projects they produced.

FINAL PRESENTATION

These works presented during the ASWARA' 08 Showcase. This showcase were attended by Mr.Burhannudin and Pn. Ainon, and special guests from MDEC, Mr. Kamil Othman (Vice President of MDeC), and Mr. Hasnul Hadi (MDEC). The showcase also joined by all of LCP Staff, supporting the students.

Les' Copaque Animation Training Centre

On the 11th Febuary 2008, 19 students from Academi Seni Budaya dan Warisan (ASWARA) have started their 3 months training in Les' Copaque Animation Training Centre. The purpose of the training is to let them get exposed to the overall flow and the pipeline of a 3D production. This course basically covered every step needed in production, from script, storyboard, basic drawing, 2d animation, 3d animation, texturing, lighting, rendering, voice acting, till video editing.

Although 3 months is a very short period, Les' Copaque Training Centre has compressed the syllabus effectively. These students, who were initially clueless about 3D animation, now have the ability to produce their own 3D short animation and the end result turns out surprisingly impressive! All of them have graduated from Les' Copaque yesterday and they will having their showcase in ASWARA Kuala Lumpur on 8th May 2008.

Let me introduce our students who have just completed their animation training course!

Good bye, Syazwan

Sadness falls upon Les' Copaque studio. Syazwan, one of our best trooper left us to work under Telekom. Last Friday was his last day so all of us show our support, despite the sadness, and gave Syazwan a decent farewell party. Syazwan was greeted with our performance of "Syazwanimator song".

Latest Addition to Les'Copaque Family.

It's been a while since we've updated on the new members joining our team. So here, I'd like to introduce the new members, adding the numbers of our team.


So here's Faren, He'll be working in our music department, along with Anas in the Audio department. He collects Star Wars action figures, and has the ears for music. He graduates from Lim Kok Wing College University, and RMIT Australia.


This is Haris, our new concept artist. Graduate of UITM Shah Alam, taking Art & Design / Graphic Design. He's good in Photoshop and he has an exceptional skills in digital painting.

This is our new Admin, Irma. She will be assisting Diani handling the trainees upstairs.
(Training Room is upstairs).

his is Gadafi, but here we call him Nell. Nell graduated from MTDC Academy, Serdang. Taking Multimedia / 3d Animation. Nell is now doing Character Rendering.

Alongside with Nell, Rashdan, also graduated from MTDC Academy, taking the same course with Nell has joined our team. He is now doing background modelling.

Here's Safwan, we call him Boi. He's our new Despatch. He'll be assisting Kak Ijan downstairs.

Visit from Arumugam Pillai Institute

Today, we have been visited by the lecturers from Arumugam Pillai Institut. We managed to give them brief explanation how the process of Animation in Les'Copaque during their short visit. Faizu and Ida managed the tour around the office, showing them around the office and how the staff and department works.

New Ping Pong Table

Alright so we admit, we really do have a real ping pong table, recently purchased. Ehsan, Shafiq and I took the freshly delivered table and ripped open the plastic covering anxiously like a present. As a matter of fact it is, thanks Atok! At first we couldn't figure out how to set up the net despite Ehsan's best effort in Wikiing it but later we sorted it out.

How many LCPeans does it take to set up a Ping Pong table?

Around 4 to figure it out really. The others aren't in the photo.

Immediately after I uploaded the picture on the net, everyone (and yes I do mean everyone) in the office stormed down and lined up to try out the new ping pong table.

Observe how firmly Sengkee holds the bat, perhaps not wanting anyone else using it.

Mind you not all of us are very good with ping pong as we spent more time picking the ball up rather than skillfully whacking it. Some of the staff however are very skilled at Ping Pong especially Mumu, dubbed juara LCP though recently he was destroyed by our new champion Ee. We'll be setting up a league soon so the playing will be more competitive.

Now with the new ping pong table, all shiny and blue, the LCP team will hopefully find a much healthier way of relaxing after a hard days work. Jangan main lebih-lebih sampai tak siap kerja yek. Anyone up for a match with a LCP staff?
